My First Date

A Rough Jean, a cool white tee and over it, a sweat jacket, freaky sneakers and I am all set to go (ya ya forgot the deo, perfume stuff). Getting ready so excitedly, I came out of my hostel room and my friend asked “Hey sabhari, going out on a date?!”.I smiled and replied, “No, I m going home!”. I was flying high that I m going home and imagining things about it and I heard this strange voice “F**k you, your train is at 11 30PM and its just 7PM”. Come on, it happens with every guy who is going home after three months J

Staring at the watch for three hours.. at last it reached 11 00 PM. Ya I m all set to leave. Bid a good bye to my jealous friends (cause I m going to have Briyani a week before they have). Got a bus to delhi and thinking of good mom foodJ. Four to five hours journey to delhi. Slept a while and I realised I reached delhi and it was 3 30 AM. Anand Vihar bus stand (ISBT). Very happily got down and had a deep breath.

Next I had to leave to Nizamuddin to catch my train at 7 AM. My friends said auto from ISBT to NZM would do but it would cost you more. Anyways, to go home I’m ready to pay any amount. The autowalas there, rushed towards me asking for the place and I said “Nizzamuddin, kithna ?”. Before this, I should tell I learnt a little hindi atleast these rates and numbers. But the autowala told me a rate “_____ sau”. I realised it is some hundred but don’t know how much. But that number is not from 1-10. So here is MBA. I dropped my face down and started walking away, making him feel the rate is high J. He started coming after me saying “ap batayae sir”. Still I was waiting for him to tell a price that I know :P. Later after 5 min of struggle he told “ek sau chalise”. Ahhhh this one I know JJ but I bargained and went for Rs 120.

Reached NZM. Rested for couple of hours and got my train to Chennai J 36 hours of journey. The highlight fact, I didn’t tell my parents I am coming home... Half of the time I spent thinking of what menu I can have after going home. Remaining half I slept. Got down at Chennai. Was singing to myself, Annaen vantha tamil nadu Americaaa … A voice from behind “eruma, nowru, mathavangalam eranga vaendam”…. Opening scenelae avamanama..

Refreshed myself.. left the station.. headed towards KFC… had some nice chicken and was waiting at Guindy bus stop for 15 min. The breeze, cars, bikes, trees.. I felt everything was telling me “Welcome home”. Three or four ladies quarrleing each other... the long forgotten, awesome tamil abusing words.. ena valkai da.. Happy to hear people speaking tamil…. At a distance, saw a bus in which it was written PUDUCHERRY, that too I tamil. Yeaaahhhhhh !!! I rushed towards it. And the conductor asked me, thinking I m a guy from north, “Ya sir, you which place to go”…. WTF.. I stared at him and said “Anna, Pondicherry poganum”….
